The Club encourages prospective new members to come and try a ride or two before joining. Please arrange this by contacting the club in advance via our contact page
Most prospective members will join the Saturday ride starting at 09.30 from Micklefield Park, Rawdon to Bolton Abbey (cafe) and back, where the route can be tailored to suit your ability. Experienced cyclists may trial club rides of greater distance/speed to suit.
A bicycle in roadworthy condition
A cycle helmet
Water and any snacks
Contact details of a friend/relative
If you are unsure about any aspect of the ride, equipment or clothing etc, then please ask. As a prospective member you will benefit from the Club’s liability insurance and do not therefore need to be a member of British Cycling or Cycling UK whilst trying out the Club.
If you wish to continue riding with the club after two trial rides, then you must become a member.
Membership is open to anyone aged [16 TBC] or over and costs just £10 per year (or part of) and is renewable in October. Unfortunately the Club does not offer junior membership at present.
First year membership comes with a £10 discount from your purchase of a Club jersey.
New members are encouraged to join the Club via the British Cycling website, although can join offline by contacting the Club’s Membership Secretary.
All Club members are strongly encouraged to be a member of either British Cycling or Cycling UK as such membership provides you with liability insurance and a range of other benefits. See British Cycling and Cycling UK websites for details.
Please note – Club members who are not members of British Cycling or Cycling UK, and non-members who have already taken part in two club rides will not benefit from any liability insurance.
