On the 30th March the club will be riding out from Rawdon to Scarborough on the North Yorks coast for Fish & Chips! Now established as the club's early season century ride, it's a great opportunity to test your legs before the Spring & Summer - good 50mile warm up before a few short sharp climbs after lunch. Starting at the car park near Barden Tower, Bolton Abbey and following the infamous Barden Road, the climb averages 7% but with several ramps up to 14%, presenting a tough challenge even for the fittest cyclist. Airedale Olympic CC's annual Reliability Ride took place on Sunday 11th February 2018. Approximately 75 riders braved wintry conditions to tackle the hilly 43.5 mile route from Pool-in-Wharfedale to Knaresborough via Summerbridge and Ripon. Whether preparing for the racing season ahead or building fitness for club rides, 'reliability trials' have traditionally demonstrated that a rider and their bicycle are reliable for the year ahead by completing a set course within a designated time, in this case 3.5 hours.
